Heffley Lake is a small community along the #5 Yellowhead Highway, 44 kilometers northeast of Kamloops, British Columbia. The area offers fishing, swimming, canoeing, horseback riding and biking. There are a few B&B’s, a ranch and camping in the area. A short distance away is the Sun Peaks Resort, it offers more accommodation and restaurants.
The entire area is a refreshing break from the dry and barren landscape of Kamloops. We drove through at the beginning of October during the peak of the fall colours.
Directions:
Take the #5 (Yellowhead Highway) North of Kamloops for 23 kilometers until you get to Heffley Creek (this is the same exit for Sun Peaks Ski Resort). Follow the Heffley Louis Creek road for another 21 kilometers. The lake will be on your right. There is a boat launch and campground on the east side of the lake.
