In the old quarter of Seville the presence of beautiful horses and carriages are everywhere. They are constantly coming and going from the area around the Cathedral. If you would like to take a ride you can easily approach a driver to negotiate a price and itinerary. The main areas where you will find them parked are the Plaza del Triuno just behind the Cathedral and the Plaza de Espana. … [Read more...]
Photographic Tour Of The Seville Cathedral
It might be worth coming to Seville for the cathedral alone. It's a stunning structure that is topped with spires, towers and buttresses that was built to show off the wealth of Seville. It is one of the largest Cathedrals and Gothic buildings in the world. The Cathedral was built on the site of a 12th century mosque. Some of the original mosque elements were used in the construction. The most notable being the Giralda which was later converted into a bell tower. … [Read more...]

Day Trip To Ross Castle Killarney
We were ecstatic to finally be in Ireland, a place we had both wanted to visit for years. The countryside was just as beautiful and green as we had imagined. Our timing didn't work out to do a tour of the Ring Of Kerry, so we decided to at least do a day trip to Killarney. Upon arrival Jack thought it appropriate to drive me crazy by repeatedly singing "Christmas In Killarney." From the town center it's a short and pleasant walk to Ross Castle. A good part of the walk is on a trail along the river and through an enchanting forest full of moss covered trees. The castle sits in a … [Read more...]

Sintra, Portugal’s Fairytale Town
It's Like A Portuguese Magic Kingdom Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that was once the summer residence of the Moorish lords of Lisbon and the kings of Portugal. For being such a short distance away from Lisbon, the temperature difference was remarkable. It is much cooler, especially at night. … [Read more...]
Hahn (Outside of Frankfurt)
Lately We Seem To Be Changing Countries More Often Than Our Socks We took the bus out to a small airport called Treviso outside of Venice. This would be our first time flying with Ryan Air, the European discount airline we have heard so much about. We got our flights from Venice to Frankfurt for 24 euros each. With the tax it came to about 45 euros each, that's about $65 Canadian. We could have got them cheaper if we booked earlier. If you book early enough then you can get the one cent fares and just pay the tax. We landed in Frankfurt at about 6pm. We called a hotel that was advertised … [Read more...]
Back In London For The Third Time On This Trip
We arrived in London at Gatwick airport, neither one of us had been to this airport before. It cost an extreme amount of money to get into the city. The tube does not run to Gatwick. It was 40 pounds(over $80 Canadian) for a train pass. The pass did include all day tube access. We made our way into the center of the city. We had pre booked a hotel near Paddington station. It was a nice hotel for 60 pounds, which was an absolute steal for London. When we arrived they had no information for our reservation. Thank goodness we got the name of the guy who booked the room and had taken our … [Read more...]
Quaint Cork
They Thought We Were Going On An Epic Journey! We took a bus from Dublin to Cork. It was about 5 hours. Everyone kept warning us how painfully slow the buses are. They would say, " oh my, your going to take the bus all the way from Dublin to Cork, it will be 5 hours!". These people are not used to traveling distances of any kind, much like a lot of the people who live in Great Britain. Going to the next town is a big event for them. Are we strange because a five hour bus ride is not a big deal to us? The bus ride was pleasant enough, we passed by lots of sheep farms, and low lying … [Read more...]
