Cradle Of Mexican Independence Dolores Hidalgo is a charming colonial town. It holds a place in history of Mexico's fight for independence. It was from the Parroquia Dolores that Padre Hidalgo delivered his now famous Grito (Cry For Freedom). Hidalgo and Allende marched from here to San Miguel, then to Celaya and Salamanca and finally with an army that had grown to over 20,000 men they had their confrontation with royalist troops in the city of Guanajuato.
