Stanley Park is a 1000 acre jewel of green space that was established in the city of Vancouver in 1887. It's one of North America's largest and most beautiful urban parks, even larger than Central Park in New York. It has it all, vast areas to picnic, manicured gardens, playgrounds, water parks, an aquarium, beaches, trails through coastal forests, and a seawall walk that offers spectacular views. You can spend a full day exploring the park in its entirety. … [Read more...]

Photographic Tour Of The Seville Cathedral
It might be worth coming to Seville for the cathedral alone. It's a stunning structure that is topped with spires, towers and buttresses that was built to show off the wealth of Seville. It is one of the largest Cathedrals and Gothic buildings in the world. The Cathedral was built on the site of a 12th century mosque. Some of the original mosque elements were used in the construction. The most notable being the Giralda which was later converted into a bell tower. … [Read more...]
Cape Agalhus, The Southernmost Point Of Africa
Many people mistakenly think that Cape Point is the southern most point of the African continent, but there is no question that Cape Agalhus holds the rightful title to this status. Technically Cape Point would be the most southwestern point of Africa. There does seem to be some debate over where the Indian and Atlantic oceans meet. Several organizations including the Department of Oceanography at the University of Cape Town, the International Hydrographic Organisation and South African Navy have all agreed that it is Cape Agalhus. Our drive started from Hermanus. It took us … [Read more...]

A Look Into Life On Tonle Sap
We specifically chose the guest house Peace of Angkor for our stay in Siem Reap because the owner is an avid photographer. He schedules day trips that allow for fantastic photo opportunities. The trip we booked with him took us to an area on Tonle Sap that had seen very little in the way of tourism. The road to the small village we were going to had just been put through recently. Prior to the road opening the village could only be reached by boat. We walked down the new road that was lined with rickety wooden houses. Some people stared at us with curiosity, others could care less that we … [Read more...]
Good Food While On A Budget In Waikiki
The selection of cafes and restaurants in Waikiki is endless. It seems you wouldn't be able to throw a stick without hitting one. The prices can be high, but if you search around there are some cheaper options to be found. We had ate on a few occasions at the food court of the Ala Moana Mall. The vendors in the large Makai Food Court offer a range of food choices. We had tasty and inexpensive Mahi Mahi burger at the Cheeseburger Factory. At another nearby stall we were able to build our own salads. In addition to the food court there are several restaurants throughout the … [Read more...]

A Photographic Tour Of Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park is an easy two hour drive southwest of Arusha, the capital of Tanzania. It sits on the traditional migration route for several wildlife species. It's not as well known as some of the parks in Tanzania but it makes for a good stop while traveling through the northern circuit on the way to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. The dry season from June to September has the largest concentration of animals, second only to the Serengeti. Our visit was during December, but we were not disappointed in the amount of wildlife we were able to view. … [Read more...]
